The U.S. Olympic Curling Arena Club National Championship, the Women’s Flat Track Derby Association-Playoff Tournament, and the Junior Volleyball Association Girls Midwest Power League Championships will call Fort Wayne home in 2013.

The new SportOne Parkview Fieldhouse will host the 2013 Junior Volleyball Association Girls Midwest Power League Championships from June 14-16.

The 2013 U.S. Olympic Curling Arena Club National Championship will be held at the
Lutheran Health SportsCenter from July 18-21. The Fort Wayne Curling Club will host the four-day championship.

From Sept. 6-8, the Fort Wayne Derby Girls will host the 2013 Women’s Flat Track Derby Association Playoff Tournament at Memorial Coliseum.

These three events will bring more than 4,000 new visitors and an estimated $500,000 in economic impact to the community. This is the first time any of these events have been held in Fort Wayne and they come to our city due to the Special Grants Program by the City of Fort Wayne to help grow sports tourism in our community.

Fort Wayne beat out a handful of cities for these events, including Detroit, Oklahoma City, Minneapolis, and Cleveland. Sports like volleyball play a huge part in people’s lives around the world, they love to watch, take part, and even participate in the likes of track or volleyball betting. Many support their favorite teams, come rain or shine, enough that they will put financial stakes on the outcome of a match of a team they root for. You can do Legal sports betting with Fanduel online if you do want to take part as others have done.
